Komplot Brussels is proud to present rippling through, a duo exhibition with
Ghent-based artist Natalija Gucheva and Antwerp-based artist Julia Tröscher.
rippling through seeks the porous boundaries between our inner and outer ontology, approaching modes of imaging and imagining as active tools for accessing deeper layers of our emotional landscape. Through their video and installation practices, Gucheva and Tröscher engage in a meditative methodology, bringing about a potentially healing process by tapping into suppressed emotions and memories. Taking the intimate and the personal as a starting point, the exhibition simultaneously questions how internal messages resonate within a wider collective consciousness.
Fueling the thinking-feeling process for this exhibition is the notion of autotheory, which explores the entanglement of subjectivity and criticality. Developing new works both together and in parallel, Gucheva and Tröscher experiment with autotheory in their own distinct yet interconnected ways.
Presenting an immersive installation with video and sensory elements at its core, the artists create a space for rippling through that invites the audience to enter into their emotional realms and experience relationality as something felt rather than explained. How can the personal and universal come together? What can sensibility reveal that language alone cannot?

Komplot Bruxelles a le plaisir de présenter rippling through, une exposition en duo réunissant l’artiste basé·e à Gand, Natalija Gucheva, et l’artiste vivant et travaillant à Anvers, Julia Tröscher.
rippling through explore les frontières poreuses entre notre ontologie intérieure et extérieure,
en abordant les modes de l’image et de l’imagination comme des outils actifs permettant d’accéder à des couches plus profondes de notre paysage émotionnel. À travers leurs pratiques de la vidéo et de l’installation, Gucheva et Tröscher adoptent une méthodologie méditative, initiant un processus potentiellement réparateur en puisant dans des émotions et des souvenirs refoulés. En prenant l’intime et le personnel comme point de départ, l’exposition interroge simultanément la manière dont les messages intérieurs résonnent au sein d’une conscience collective plus large.
La notion d’autothéorie nourrit le processus de pensée et de ressenti de l’exposition et explore l’enchevêtrement de la subjectivité et de la pensée critique. En développant de nouvelles œuvres à la fois ensemble et en parallèle, Gucheva et Tröscher expérimentent l’autothéorie chacune à leur manière, distincte mais interconnectée.
En présentant une installation immersive pour rippling through, dont la vidéo et les éléments sensoriels constituent le cœur, les artistes créent un espace qui invite le public à entrer dans leurs sphères émotionnelles et à faire l’expérience de la relationnalité comme d’une sensation plutôt que d’une explication. Comment le personnel et l’universel peuvent-ils se rejoindre ? Que peut révéler la sensibilité que le langage seul ne saurait exprimer ?

Komplot presenteert met trots rippling through, een duotentoonstelling met de in Gent gevestigde kunstenaar Natalija Gucheva en de in Antwerpen gevestigde kunstenaar Julia Tröscher.
rippling through zoekt de poreuze grenzen tussen onze innerlijke en uiterlijke ontologie op, en benadert manieren van verbeelden en imagineren als actieve instrumenten om diepere lagen van ons emotionele landschap te ontsluiten. Via hun video- en installatiepraktijken hanteren Gucheva en Tröscher een meditatieve methodologie, die een potentieel helend proces in gang zet door onderdrukte emoties en herinneringen aan te spreken. Vanuit het intieme en persoonlijke als vertrekpunt stelt de tentoonstelling tegelijk de vraag hoe innerlijke boodschappen weerklinken binnen een breder collectief bewustzijn.
De denk-voel processen achter deze tentoonstelling worden gevoed door het begrip autotheorie dat de verstrengeling van subjectiviteit en kritische reflectie onderzoekt. Door zowel samen als parallel nieuwe werken te ontwikkelen, experimenteren Gucheva en Tröscher elk op hun eigen, maar onderling verbonden manier met autotheorie.
Met een immersieve installatie waarin video en zintuiglijke elementen centraal staan, creëren de kunstenaars voor rippling through een ruimte die het publiek uitnodigt hun emotionele werelden te betreden en relationaliteit te ervaren als iets wat gevoeld wordt, eerder dan uitgelegd. Hoe kunnen het persoonlijke en het universele samenkomen? Wat kan gevoeligheid onthullen dat taal alleen niet kan?
