Organised by Xeno- Exhibitions, the fourth edition of -ectomie patriarcale vol. IV : LANGUE explores language as a multifaceted territory, interwoven with the body, memory, and struggles. It will take place over two days, November 27 and 28, 2026, at Komplot.
As an organ of taste and speech, the tongue is much more than just a muscle. It is memory, culture, and identity. At the intersection of the sensory and the symbolic, it shapes our relationship to the world and to others, tasting, naming, loving, and translating our experiences. While it is an organ, it is also discourse: a vehicle for invention and domination, but also for care and transformation. It materializes, is written, and is performed. It is trace and movement, inscription and cry.
The artists brought together for this edition question, subvert, or activate language through diverse gestures that reveal both its materiality and its political power. Their works invite us to navigate between personal memories and collective memory, the colonial history of food and marginalized narratives, mythologies, and fictional archives. This project explores what language does to bodies, society, and identities, as well as how it can become a tool for resistance, healing, disruption, or creation.
